Kevin Dischler is recognized as a leading expert in Aquatic Toxicity Testing throughout the Oil & Gas Industry and along the Gulf of Mexico.
He has over 30 years of experience in aquatic toxicity testing, serving both the offshore Oil & Gas Operators as well as land based Industrial companies and Product Manufacturers.
Kevin Dischler’s industry experience includes work with Freshwater effluents (municipal wastewater plants, refineries, etc.) then water-based Drilling Fluids in 1986. In 1991, he began the Produced Water (saltwater) toxicity program and then in 2004, rolled out the Sediment Toxicity Test program for synthetic-based drilling fluids used in drilling operations in the Gulf of Mexico. In 2013, Element began offering aquatic toxicity testing for Product Qualification under GLP and OECD Guidelines.
In addition, Kevin has provided testing for numerous Drilling Fluid additives, Pipeline Hydro additives, Production Chemicals and Wastewater Treatment products.
Kevin provided the drilling fluid toxicity testing on both of the relief well drilled at the BP Macondo Incident site. He also achieved listing on the USEPA NCP Approved Laboratory list through work performed on products during the Macondo incident response.
