AMSTERDAM – July 16th –Sherry Laboratories in Daleville, Ind., acquired by Element Materials Technology earlier in 2013, has added High Cycle Fatigue Testing, Low Cycle Fatigue Testing, Fracture Toughness and Low Stress Grinding/Polishing to its Nadcap Materials Testing Scope of Accreditation.

The addition of ASTM E466 High Cycle Fatigue Testing, ASTM E606 Low Cycle Fatigue Testing, Fracture Toughness and Low Stress Grinding/Polishing to Sherry’s Nadcap Materials Testing Scope of Accreditation complements an already impressive roster of Nadcap approvals for Element’s global platform of materials testing laboratories.

As well as Sherry, Daleville, Element’s facilities holding Nadcap certification include Cincinnati, Charlotte, Cleveland, Glendale, Houston, Huntington Beach, Newtown, Rancho Dominguez, St Paul, Tulsa and Wixom in holding Nadcap certificates. Between them, Element’s laboratories can offer the aviation industry accredited services covering the full range of testing methodology covered by Nadcap and it is believed that the company is the only independent tester to hold as many Nadcap accreditations in the US.

Colin Speedie, VP of US Operations at Element Materials Technology, says: “”The team at Sherry has worked extensively in tandem with its leading aerospace customers to expand its suite of Nadcap approved testing capabilities. Their knowledge, along with that of the experts in Element's other numerous laboratories to hold Nadcap accreditation, will be shared across Element's global platform of 40 facilities and 1,400 scientists, technicians and chemists”.

”Jennifer Tret, Vice President of Materials Testing  at Sherry Laboratories, says: “We’re working diligently to create a portfolio of services that is in perfect harmony with the needs of our diverse portfolio of clients. As with all of the highly technical services we offer, the ability to understand customers’ unique needs and make recommendations for testing, machining and sample preparation comes with experience and technical competence”.

In addition to being Nadcap approved and accredited to ISO 17025 by  A2LA (American Association for Laboratory Accreditation), other notable prime aerospace approvals for Sherry include Bell Helicopter, Boeing, Bombardier, Cessna, GE Aviation, Gulfstream Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce, Sikorsky, Snecma Group Safran and Volvo Aero. The Indiana materials testing laboratory is also ITAR registered and compliant.
