LONDON, UK – August 18, 2016 – Element Materials Technology has demonstrated its position as the testing partner of choice in the Aerospace sector following a significant new contract win to deliver its world-leading hydrodynamic ditching testing for the COMAC C919.
The COMAC C919 is a commercial airliner developed by the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China. Engaged Experts from Element’s Warwick laboratory will design and implement test programs, as well as developing a scale model, to be used as part of the airworthiness compliance verification process to meet national and international Aviation regulatory requirements.
Rick Sluiters, Element’s Executive Vice President, Aerospace comments: “The COMAC C919 is a very exciting project involving the dynamic Chinese aviation market. Our team at Element Warwick has extensive experience in the delivery of this industry-critical service. With only a select few laboratories able to provide this service globally, we are fulfilling our role as an industry leader as the Aerospace sector looks to meet increasing demand for safe, efficient aircraft.”
Liangdao Zhou, C919 Vice Chief Designer from COMAC, comments: “The C919 aircraft will be an outstanding and competitive aircraft in the global market. The development of this aircraft has been supported by many international suppliers. We are glad that Element has won the contract for the C919 ditching test program with its impressive expertise. We believe that C919 will be a safer aircraft under the cooperation between COMAC and Element.”
Engaged Experts from Element’s global platform presented Element’s capabilities in controlled hydrodynamic ditching with scale models at this year’s Farnborough International Air Show 2016.
