London, UK - January 17, 2017 – Element Materials Technology is to open a new, state-of-the-art corrosion facility at its laboratory in Aberdeen.
Opening on 24 January, it is the first purpose built, independent corrosion facility incorporating sour gas exposures in the area. The world class facility will feature Sour Ambient for routine sour testing, Sour HT/PT for high pressure and temperature testing and a Development Area for design and operation of bespoke client testing.

The corrosion facility is an addition to the existing Aberdeen Laboratory capabilities in Fracture Toughness, Engineering Critical Assessment, Welding Engineering, Failure Investigation, Mechanical Testing expertise and is supported by a comprehensively equipped Machine Shop.
Sarah Vasey, President of the Institute of Corrosion will officially open the facility on January 24, with many key clients attending the event. The Grand Opening Celebration will feature presentations on Corrosion Capabilities and Fracture Mechanics at Element Aberdeen, a tour of the facility and a networking and drinks reception.
